A Dinnertime Switch |
Just to add a little fun to dinner once in awhile, I started a new family tradition. Typically everyone in our family sits in the same chairs at dinnertime, but every once in awhile I like to shake things up. Every month or so, when everyone is seated for dinner, I call out "Switch" then follow that with further instructions like "two chairs to your right" or "one chair to your left". Everyone moves to their newly assigned seat for the night and we proceed with dinner. Except there's a catch. Each person has to act and talk as if they are the person that normally sits in the seat they're in. That means my son, might have to answer as if he's my husband or I might have to answer as if I'm my son. It's a lot of fun. We have a lot of laughs and we usually learn some things about ourselves.
