A New Spin on the Traditional Advent Calendar

Last year as an alternative to the traditional advent calendar I gathered 25 holiday books/CDs from my book collection and the library and put them in a big basket. Each night, my kids choose a book or CD and we read it or listen to it at bedtime. They get a fun story and we count down to Christmas at the same time!
