Beach Trip Traditions

Every summer, we spend a few days at the beach. We have certain things that MUST be done on each trip. First, everyone gets new flip-flops. We must have one meal at a Whataburger and we must have one meal at a local seafood restaurant - no big chain restaurant, it must be a local one serving fresh seafood from the local area! We must take LOTS of pictures! Dad & I use the digital cameras, but the boys each get a disposable camera to take pictures of whatever they want. I love to see what was deemed picture worthy in their eyes when we get them developed. We take one side trip while there - be it a museum, a special park for bird watching, another beach than the one we are staying at or a boat ride. We MUST ride the ferry! And - on the last day, we take tourist type pictures, such as in the mouth of a large shark at a souvenir shop and then we go into a souvenir store and buy souvenirs to remember our trip before getting in the car for the ride home! So along with collecting shells and playing in the sand and waves, we have a well rounded trip!
