Finding the Perfect Tree

Ever since my husband I a were married we've made it a tradition to go out and find the perfect Christmas tree. Nearly every year for the last eleven years, we've reserved the Friday after Thanksgiving as "Christmas Tree Hunting Day". We wake up early make a nice big breakfast, get dressed up in our warmest clothes and begin the hunt. We start by going out to a big tree farm outside of town. We wander through the field looking for the best tree we can find. We always take our time and enjoy the experience. After an hour or two, we are usually done. We make a visit up to the house to pay for our tree, have a cup of hot apple cider and visit with the owners of the tree farm. The rest of our day is spent at home trimming the tree and putting up lights outside of our home. We put on Christmas music and bake chocolate chip cookies. It's a tradition that I look forward to every year.
