My Little Picassos

My children bring home so many art projects from school that I just didn’t know where to go with it all. Each paper is so precious to me that I didn’t want to just throw it away so I finally devised a system that would allow me to keep all the artwork and papers. I decided to photograph each of the papers with my digital camera and keep a digital record of all my children’s artwork. I’ve set up a gallery on my computer where I can look at the beautiful artwork throughout the years and even add comments to the photos so I have even more vivid memories. My children and I select a few of the special pieces and put them away in a keepsake box. And lastly, each child has two pieces of artwork framed in our kitchen. The framed pieces rotate as new artwork comes in to the house, and then eventually end up in the keepsake box. The artwork system we created allows me to me showcase the artwork in my home and to cherish all the masterpieces forever. Plus, as a bonus, I now have a system in place to deal with much of the paper coming into our home.

Picasso (1881-1973). Pablo Ruiz y Picasso was a Spanish painter and sculptor. One of the most recognized figures in 20th century art, he is best known as the co-founder of cubism. He was named by the Guinness Book of Records as the most prolific painter ever. He created in his lifetime approximately 13,500 paintings, 100,000 prints and engravings, 34,000 book illustrations and 300 sculptures.
