My Morning Appointment

A simple tradition my husband and I started when my daughter was born about a year ago provides me with a little quiet time before the start of a hectic day. My husband is sweet enough to give me one full uninterrupted half hour every weekday morning so I can enjoy a cup of hot tea and the "Today Show" before he leaves for work. No matter what I'm doing at 7:00 am, he takes charge and sends me downstairs for my tea and TV. I'm not allowed to emerge until 7:30 am. During this half-hour time slot, I’m not allowed to do dishes or sneak in a load of laundry. The time is just for me to relax and enjoy myself before the day begins.
