Our Hometown Parade

When I was growing up it was always a tradition to load our lawn chairs into my Dad's pickup truck and find a seat in front of the public library so we could watch the 4th of July parade. It's certainly one of my best memories as a kid. Candy would be thrown from the floats and I would hustle to pick it up, marching bands from several high schools in the area would proudly march by and the fire trucks, horses and floats would complete the show. My mom would pack a picnic basket so we had snacks and cold drinks. It's been ages now since I've attended a 4th of July parade, but it certainly is a wonderful and innocent childhood memory that I will forever cherish.
