Pumpkin Carving Night

We make pumpkin carving into a real event at our house. Each family member gets to pick out their own pumpkin. We each spend time sketching our designs and my husband does all the cutting. My kids and I sort through the pumpkin "guts" and pick out all the seeds. Then we prepare our pumpkin seeds for toasting and make a wonderful evening treat. We take a picture of each of the designers with their pumpkins for our family scrapbook then we place the pumpkins on the front porch with a candle to see them lit up. We top the night off by watching a scary movie together.
