Thanksgiving Questions

We usually have a somewhat eclectic group for Thanksgiving, mostly family, but often a few others including neighbors, co-workers and friends. To make dinner conversation more interesting and to ensure that everyone participates (and no one monopolizes), I write up some simple questions to get everyone talking. Here's just a sampling of the questions that I use:

  • What are you most thankful for this year?
  • What was the most memorable event of the year so far?
  • What's your favorite Thanksgiving memory?
  • Tell us about the last book you read.

Of course, depending on the ages of your group and how well they know each other, you can vary the questions accordingly. It's a fun twist on Thanksgiving and it helps break the ice and keep conversation moving.
