The Family Portrait

My parents have been sending out Christmas cards with our family photograph in for as long as I can remember. It's always been a tradition that we pose for the picture after our Thanksgiving meal. Everyone is dressed up and we are all gathered together. The portraits, in addition to being used for the upcoming Christmas cards are all framed in the hallway of my parents home. Most often we're posed nicely in my parents living room, but we've also had some fun photos over the years. We've had the Thanksgiving turkey in the picture, a few cheerleader-like poses (pyramids and the like) and even one with the grandkids dressed up like elves. It's always a big discussion during dinner to decide how we will pose. And it's certainly made for many cherished memories.
