The Thanks Tree

Each year we have the same Thanksgiving centerpiece on our table. I gather some branches from the woods and put them in a beautiful vase. The empty branches look a little naked to begin with, but once guests start arriving the tree springs leaves. To complete the tree, I cut out leaf shapes from colored paper, punch a whole and tie a small ribbon so they leaves can be hung on the tree. Before the leaves are hung, each person attending the Thanksgiving meal must fill in at least one leaf with something that they are thankful for. By the time dinner begins, the Thanks Tree is full of leaves.
