Every Christmas Eve after the kids go to bed, I put out the presents and then make sure to leave some proof that Santa and the reindeer really made a visit. I take bites of the cookies, carrots and drink all the milk. I leave a small trail of glitter from the front porch to the Christmas tree. Then I go into the yard and make a few small gashes in the front yard to show that his sleigh had really landed their. It really gets the kids excited and I’ve even passed on the idea to their friends’ parents so they can share a similar experience. ~Arlene S., Wausau, WI We leave a small trail of ashes from the fireplace to the tree. Tradition Comments
Two years ago, Santa's reindeer left a few muzzle hairs in the dish of water we left for them. Last year, they left muddy hoof-shaped footprints from the back door into the kitchen. It was awesome! He also leaves a note each year, which he prints out on his on-board sleigh printer.
Each year I take some powdered carpet freshener and pour some out in a pile. Then I step in it and leave foot prints from the fireplace to the tree.
We use cardboard templates of my DH's work boots. He makes footprints to the tree using baby powder. One year my DD (4 yrs at the time) looking very serious exclaimed, "My goodness! Santa made a big mess!" I still lol!
