Tracking Dad's Travels

When I was a young boy my father spent much of his career traveling internationally. He would fly to South America one week and Hong Kong the next. To help us understand more about his travels we bought a large world map to hang in our family room. Before each trip Dad would sit down with us and tell us about where he was going. Then we would find it on the map and mark the city with a thumbtack. Because of his busy travel schedule my sister, brother and I became very familiar with foreign countries and world geography. Even though we didn’t like to see Dad leave, we enjoyed the long talks we would have about the countries and the process of finding each one of his destinations on the map.
