Writing with Grandma

My sons and their families all live in other states. I visit each family at least twice a year (sometime more often). I am a writer, and to make certain that I communicate with my pre-teen granddaughters often in between visits without the usual how-are-you-I-am-fine dialogues, I came up with the idea of incorporating their help with the young adult book I am writing. Taylor, like me, loves to read and write, so I have her help with the actual writing process. Anna is more inclined to artistic things so she is going to do a couple of illustrations. We work on the small stuff regarding our book via e-mails, and when we get together on visits, we do the major stuff, like edits, and critiques. If the book is never sold when we finish, I am going to have copies made and the girls and I will try to sell it ourselves.
