Traditions Make for a More Memorable Holiday Season
Madison, Wis. - Think back to your childhood. What are some of your fondest holiday memories? You’ll probably discover that many are annual rituals, like putting out sugar cookies for Santa or opening that one special gift on Christmas Eve. They are the little things that make your holiday celebration unique and help create lasting memories.
Traditions are the routines and rituals that we celebrate that make the holidays special. Often they are some of the most anticipated joys of the holiday season. Traditions provide a sense of continuity and foster good memories to build upon year after year. Many families or groups of friends have traditions that they look forward to celebrating throughout the year, but especially during the holiday season. The traditions might range from cooking a special holiday meal to cutting down the Christmas tree, to decorating the house to getting a personal visit from Santa Claus. No matter what the tradition, it’s an important part of the holiday season.
According to Colleen Carmona, founder of the new website Café Traditions, "Traditions are the glue that bind us together. They are the memories that we talk about year after year. They are the rituals that touch are hearts and create stronger relationships." It was for these reasons that Carmona started the website, www.CafeTraditions.com.
"My idea for the website was to create a depository for traditions, a place where people can record their memories and share them with others. I hope it inspires people to take note of their traditions and also encourages them to add new traditions to their life" says Carmona. "I believe that traditions strengthen family bonds and provide a positive experience that can be acted out and passed on. They are a big part of family history."
Because traditions are such a big part of our holiday celebrations, Carmona hopes that word travels about the website. She hopes that the site encourages people to take note of their own traditions, but also take a look at those of others. And in the process, she hopes that people find new traditions to introduce into their lives.
CafeTraditions.com (www.CafeTraditions.com) is a depository for traditions ranging from ideas for holidays, kids, friends, family and more. In addition, the site accepts tradition submissions from visitors. CafeTraditions is operated by Colleen Carmona. For more information, contact Colleen Carmona by mail at 313 W.
